thank you sir,
"The existential castes are confined to a divide between dalits and non-dalits" thats true, an OBC student taking benefits is not a problem but if an SC/ST gets the same benefits then its a problem.i come from Karnataka and i cant understand how the Gowdas, Lingayats could become a backward class? the entire state is run by them(education, politics, newspapers,tv channels).while the traditional uppercastes do a softcore dicrimination the shudras do a hardcore dicrimination..
i guess the traditionally, shudras were not allowed to do rituals, but they were allowed to own lands, properties unlike dalits.. just for this reason they cant claim to be a backward caste..

the only way to survive this combined attack of non-dalits against dalits is to regroup ourselves and fight unitedly..

Let us PURCHASE a separate Nation where our Children can live with Dignity.

(<strong>Samatha</strong>)

A Nation requires certain characteristics. Dalits do not form a nation. Their identity is through victimization only. Otherwise, they are different in terms of language, culture, values etc. Problem is society's indirect support for human rights violation of dalits. That happens whenever the victim lacks voice for whatever reasons. A separate nation hardly gives the voice. New people in power would be the new oppressors. Instead, work on using existing institutions ( or come up with new) creatively to help the victims find voice.
