ACTIVITIES
Being a socially responsible organization, Samatha care for the community around it. From the beginning, Samatha made significantly positive contribution to the underprivileged, by supporting a wide range of socio-economic, educational and health initiatives. Samatha also plays a pivotal role in bringing in various services is association with various governmental and non-governmental organizations alike. Samatha took the first hand initiative to bring it to the notice of authorities and been a cause for several of the developments in the neighborhood.
Youth welfare and Cultural Activities

Samatha believes that it is the young who makes tomorrow a better day. Samatha continually organize several programs that help the young to grow as a culturally high, responsible individual. These programs are meant to provide adequate guidance for the youth for developing social and life skills. Samatha pays special attention to encourage and develop the creative skills of the young individuals, and arrange opportunities to interact with the accomplished in the relative fields. Young achievers from the community were appreciated for their success and hard work, which further encourage other youth to follow path.

Medical Camps

Samatha regularly organize health awareness programs and medical camps in association with recognized health organizations and hospitals. It conducts well-timed awareness programs on various deceases and seasonal epidemics for the rural neighborhood, who are usually the least informed and thus more affected. Samatha takes the initiative for treatment and further procedures, such as hospitalization, Surgery or financial support if incase someone requires it.

Senior Citizen Welfare

In its underprivileged neighborhoods, Samatha finds many elderly citizens who need support and care. Samatha started a monthly pension program for the aged and the poor from 2011 and currently supporting 10 senior citizens who need it the most. There are many more who needs the support, and Samatha is doing its best to help out as many as currently possible.
Samatha also provides financial support for the poor patients who need critical treatment.
Education Aid

Several children give up education, as their families find it difficult to financially support the child. With the poor socio-economic conditions of the community, this is very common. The child then will be forced to do unskilled labor for petty earnings, which will not support the family for long. Then it continues as a vicious cycle for generations. Samatha understands this and started the Education Aid program for the underprivileged students in 1999, by supporting a couple of the most needy students.
Currently the Education Aid program supports 5 students, taking care of all expenses of their education. And, we can proudly say, the results are exceptional.
Computer Literacy Program

The prospect of the cyber technology reaching to the lower layer of the society is rare, though the necessity of being aware of it grows rapidly. To help out Samatha envisioned and started a much needed Coastal Computer Literacy Program in 2012, in association with Micro objects Pvt.Ltd, Cochin, opening up an opportunity for the people of all ages. We anticipate it to be a complex, but worthy task. Awareness seminars are intended to break the ice for the community which otherwise diffident towards anything that is cyber.
Family Congregate

Samatha is essentially a family of families. We share together and grow together. The annual Family Congregate is a obligatory occasion where all the member families meet to share moments are have fun. The occasion is for everyone in every family, young and old alike.
Library

Considering the essential role Books and Literature play to lift up people's spirit, Samatha started a library for the public in 2011. Many had contributed books and journals, members and non-members alike, to the Library to make it possible. The library consists books in most genres and is expanding. The library also have an exclusive children's section. Anyone with a Library membership can avail books or Journals from the Library.
Eye Donation

Samatha compiled a list of eye donors and so far enlighten the lives of six people through donated eyes. More and more people are being responsive to the program through the awareness programs conducted by Samatha periodically.
